Julia Kate is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter from Sherman Oaks, CA., and yes, she’s a valley girl, so please don’t judge. Julia is currently a student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA studying songwriting and music business. Growing up, she was inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Lorde, Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey, but she loves all sorts of music and is happiest at places like Coachella.  Julia began writing her own original songs in high school when she was introduced by a family friend to producer Johnny What (JuiceWRLD, Pentatonix).  Johnny took Julia under his wing, and along with musical director Nick Rosen and Jacob Wick, formerly with the band Dreamers, the threesome crafted Julia’s first EP, “just a kid” (released in 2022).   Before heading to Berklee in the fall of 2023, Julia went back into the studio with Nick Rosen and recorded her second EP, “yearbook,” released in September 2023.  When home from school, Julia Kate can often be seen gigging around Los Angeles at venues like The Troubadour, The Whisky a GoGo, The Hotel Cafe and The Mint.
